معرفی هورمون ورزش (Irisin)

Authors

Abstract:

Introduction: Almost 15% of world populations suffer from obesity. Obesity and insulin resistance are the key pathogenesis risk factors of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular disease. Exercise training can accelerate metabolism and help to prevent the obesity and diabetes through induction of Irisin and triggers conversion of white adipose tissue to brown adipose tissue. Methods and Materials: This review article has been performed by searching the Irisin, FN DC5, obesity and insulin resistance keywords in various databases such as SID, Google scholar, Magiran and Pubmed websites. Results: The exercise increases the production of PGC-1α in the muscle. Previous studies demonstrated that PGC-1α up-regulates the production of FNDC5, which cleave and secrete an Irisin into blood circulation. Irisin (exercise hormone) is responsible for uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) induction, which plays an important role through increasing heat generation and mitochondrial membrane induction of UCP1, increase heat generation via metabolism. Discussion and Conclusion: Elevated Irisin production alleviate the obesity, glucose tolerance, and decreases insulin resistance. Although exercise increase Irisin and it increases brown adipocyte, it is unclear that why weight reduction cannot be seen with exercise. Bostrom et al., as research pioneers about Irisin, confirm a positive effect of Irisin on obesity and insulin resistance by inducing the group of mice to obesity, diabetes, and injecting FNDC5 to them.

Irisin and musculoskeletal health.

Irisin is a hormone-like myokine produced in abundance by skeletal muscle in response to exercise, both in mice and humans. Once released into the circulation, irisin acts on white adipocytes to induce the browning response and subsequently activates nonshivering thermogenesis. We have examined the premise that irisin produced during exercise may subserve further functions in the musculoskeleta...

Irisin, Two Years Later

In January 2012, Boström and colleagues identified a new muscle tissue secreted peptide, which they named irisin, to highlight its role as a messenger that comes from skeletal muscle to other parts of the body. Irisin is a cleaved and secreted fragment of FNDC5 (also known as FRCP2 and PeP), a member of fibronectin type III repeat containing gene family. Major interest in this protein arose bec...

Irisin ERKs the Fat

Increasing energy expenditure is an attractive approach to fighting the worldwide epidemic in obesity and type 2 diabetes. Exercise is an important component of good health and represents the first line of therapy for humans with a variety of metabolic disorders: obesity, diabetes, and nonalcoholic hepatic steatosis. Recent data has shown that exercise, besides using calories to do physical wor...

Irisin and FNDC5 in retrospect

FNDC5 (fibronectin domain-containing [protein] 5) was initially discovered and characterized by two groups in 2002. In 2011 FNDC5 burst into prominence as the parent of irisin, a small protein containing the fibronectin type III domain. Irisin was proposed to be secreted by skeletal muscle cells in response to exercise, and to circulate to fat tissue where it induced a transition to brown fat. ...

Irisin/FNDC5--An updated review.

OBJECTIVE The irisin, recently identified novel molecule, has been shown to be secreted from fibronectin type III domain containing 5 (FNDC5) of skeletal muscle by an unknown protease. It has been proposed that this molecule plays an important role in converting the white adipose tissue to brown adipose tissue and regulating the energy expenditure. Apart from this, its expression and role in va...
